salon.com: This is what Egypt looks like right now →
This is the song that comes to mind as I read about what’s going on in Egypt —- Les Miz’s Empty Chairs at Empty Tables: There’s a grief that can’t be spoken There’s a pain goes on and on Empty chairs at empty tables Now my friends are dead and gone   Here they talked of revolution Here it was they lit the flame Here they sang about tomorrow And tomorrow never...

– (via thesecondjourney) Yes, I’m quite fortunate to have finally found such a guy. For the first time in my life, I’m in a relationship with a guy who’s not just my lover but my bestfriend as well.

There’s something disconcerting about seeing your neighbor’s undies hanging from the clothesline - especially if you hardly talk to this neighbor. It’s like - “Hey, we don’t talk, but I know your…

I Write As I Write: The Curious Case of Saint Malo →
This is quite interesting - I first heard the story of the Filipinos who jumped ship in New Orleans during one of my English lit classes, but it was just mentioned in passing.  iwriteasiwrite: Nestled back in the boondocks (bayous) of Louisiana, the land of ‘gators, voodoo and jazz, was a most curious little fishing town. It was a secretive and insular settlement, at its largest populated by...

We The Users →
jonbeckett: Here you go - an open directory for Tumblogs, and posts you have liked. It’s a total expriment, to see if something like this might be useful. Posts initially go into “Upcoming”. If they get 5 votes, they go on the “front page”. Make sense ? (p.s. tell everybody about it - the more users it has, the more useful it becomes)

weiwitch's brew →
This is what I do when I couldn’t write. Although lately, I’m glad that I’ve gone back to reading books again. But I haven’t given up on ‘pursuing my artistic pursuits’ just yet - and I’m still looking forward to attending art classes (if and when I finally have the time, and the disposable income). Meanwhile, I make do with whatever talent I have. ;-)

trying to write. again.
I have 22 unpublished posts / drafts in my Blogger account, all waiting to be either (1) published or (2) deleted. Deleted is more like it, since in the first place, the reason why they remain unpublished is because they’re all unfinished entries. Hell, who am I kidding - they were barely started. These were mostly one- or two- liners which had gone poof! in the middle of a thought, which,...

note to self: write. again. please.
Your mission from now on? To post more often about the most interesting person you know - yourself. Share more, open up, be creative, be original, be the square peg. What are your aspirations? What do you fear? What do you love? Who do you care about, and why? What were you doing yesterday? What do you hope to do tomorrow? We’re interested in who you are - not what you found. -Jon Beckett,...

Poor baby. This is just way too sad. Tucson, Arizona (CNN) — She was born on Sept. 11, 2001, and died in Saturday’s shootings here. Christina Green’s father says the nine years in between were special.

How faith helped uncover a 'golden voice' →
This is probably one of the greatest miracles that happened over the Christmas season. This is so heartwarming - reading it has gotten me all weepy. Yeah, I’m such a sucker for Chicken Soup stories.
